Stellar Gymnastics Classes FAQs
Q. What guidance is Stellar be following?
A. DCMS – “People who work in grassroots sports and gym leisure facilities”. This contains all the relevant information to resume gymnastics activities safely.
Risk Assessments have been be carried out and COVID measures are in place. These are being continually assessed and updated.
Q. How many people are allowed in the facility at Stellar Classes at any one time?
A. For now Stellar has a limit of sixteen participants and two coaches per class. These will be in two separate groups.
Other classes may be in the facility where timings overlap. These classes are kept apart.
No parents or guardians are permitted into the facility.
Parents and guardians must drop off and pick up their children.
Q. Will Stellar be applying “Bubbling”?
A. The guidance states that social distance regulations must be maintained therefore “bubbling” or close contact is not permitted unless gymnasts are from the same household or support bubble.
Fixed groups will be maintained throughout the class but the gymnasts will be socially distanced from each other and the coaches.
Q. Will Stellar coaches be physically supporting/spotting the gymnasts?
A. Social distancing must be adhered to at all times and no contact is permitted between coaches or gymnasts until the relevant government remove or review social distances.
Activities will be appropriate for social distance coaching.
Q. Will Stellar be checking the temperatures of gymnasts at the start if their class?
A. No, but we ask that guardians check their children for symptoms before they attend.
If a child or member of the household is displaying symptoms that child must not attend any Stellar class until they have been tested for COVID-19 and the results are negative.
Q. Should gymnasts wear face masks or covering during their class with Stellar?
A. Both British gymnastics on the government do not recommend the use of face coverings during sports activities all forms of face coverings may restrict breathing efficiency and should not be used during exercise except on specific advice from a physician.
Gymnasts can wear a mask whilst not taking part in an activity or during break times if they so wish.
Q. Will coaches be wearing face masks or PPE during classes?
A. Coaches are to wear a face mask or visor upon entering the facility, throughout coaching and until they leave the facility. These can be removed when drinking and eating.
Q. How often will equipment be cleaned?
A. The facility will be cleaned at the start and end of each session.
Equipment will be cleaned after each gymnast has used it.
Equipment that cannot be cleaned every time will not be used .
Coaches and Gymnasts will be told to regularly sanitise or wash their hands.
Q. Can gymnasts share personal equipment such as hand guards or chalk?
A. Personal equipment must not be shared.
Each gymnast should bring their own personal equipment such as chalk, hand guards and conditioning items such as ancke weights, bands or rollers.
Stellar will not be providing communal chalk.
Q. What are Stellar's responsibilities under the test and trace system?
A. We have a responsibility to maintain registers of staff and members who are at the facility and a note of the date and time they have been in the facility.
If someone tests positive for COVID-19 the NHS Test and Trace may ask the infected person or Guardian to provide details of anyone they have been in contact with these registers will assist in this process.
Staff and over 16s will “check in” using the NHS COVID-19 App.
